One year would be a proper timespan in going about lose some weight, this way...

It's all about simple math, really!
Managing ones weight is in some aspects very alike bookkeeping. You will have to be in control of the income and the expenses. But in our bodies, it's not a good idea to have too much of income or intake, then we will necessary gain some fat-weight and for most of us, it's something we do not want to happen.

So is it not really about "just" eating lesser? No, you don't have to eat lesser overall, or go around being hungry and maybe cranky. And you don't have to eat any diet pills, or pulver, or anything like that either. But back to the mathematical thing.

My husband told me that he read of an experiment, about how large a quantity of ice water one have to drink, in order to lose one kilo* of body weight. I'll tell you this, not to say that you should go and be an excessive ice water drinker, but as an example, a way of thinking of this matter, in very basic mathematical terms.     * Eating so called "negative calories" - see note below-
    * Eating more fat, but "only" Omega 3-fatty acids
    * Drinking more water

Note: Negative calories doesn't exist, but some vegetables will cause your body to use up more calories when digesting them, than they contains themselves: cabbage, celery and cucumber, just to mention some.

Here comes yet another reading tips about all the good things that will come from increasing ones daily waterintake. It's a hilarious funny blogpost called:  http://twofatbrothers.com/2008/01/17/how-to-lose-1-pound-in-1-minute-or-less/.  I am sure that laughing more also will help us in our weight loss management efforts. And that brings us into yet another area...

How tiny changes in your daily habits can help
The weight loss tips from me today, will also include making some tiny changes in our daily habits. For example, not just be sitting in front of a computer for hours and hours to go, but instead considering to stand up for a while. The bodys consumption of calories is slightly larger when you are standing up, compared to when you are sitting down.

If your body weight is 70 kilos*, then just sitting down will burn 105 calories per hour, but when you stand up it will increase to a 161 calories per hour, according to the METs scale. (MET = metabolic equivalent task).

Here's a little half joke weight loss tip, to round up this article with: Next time you are meditating, assuming that you are, think deeply about changing your beer drinking habits (if you got such ones) from ordinary beer, over to light beer, or low carb beer. - Who knows how many pounds just that one little change will take off your (belly) weight, in a year, or so.

Good luck in incorporating your newly found weight loss tips into your daily life. Me? I'm practising some of my own tips and no, I will not reveal to you which ones though, sorry! - Well, we don't have to go to the extreme, do we?

*Note: 1 kilo equals 2.2 Lbs.

Secrets to a flat stomach

People will spend a great deal of money to get a great body through plastic surgery. According to the Report of the 2010 Plastic Surgery Statistics by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, $13.1 million was spent on cosmetic procedures in the United States. Surgery is fast, but there are things than can go horribly wrong. So why take the chance when you have a healthier and safer option? If you want an amazing body, you have to work for it and that is just the reality of the situation. When most people think of the ideal body, they immediately think of a flat stomach. This is one the hardest place to lose the weight. If the stomach is your main area of concern, then you need to find proper foods and targeted exercises that will help you with this problem.

Eliminate junk foods
If you want a flat stomach, then you have to eat foods that won’t store fat in that area. This means saying goodbye to frequent chocolate snacks, potato chips and sodas and saying hello to healthy fruits and vegetables. Instead of ice cream, eat a fat free yogurt. Substitute a large pizza with a delicious chicken salad. Realistically, you are not expected to totally eliminate all your favorite foods from your diet, but you need to save them for special occasions or limit them overall. Fruits and vegetables are delicious and they won’t go straight to your waistline. You can eat as much as you want and you won’t gain belly fat.

Eat more fiber
Fiber has been known to help with losing weight in the stomach. Diets that are low in fiber generally cause extra weight in the midsection. You can get fiber from eating fruits and vegetables daily. You should opt for brown or whole wheat bread instead of white bread, and brown rice instead of white rice. Some cereals also contain more fiber than others so be sure to read the labels and choose one that is also low in fat and sugar.

Eat less salt
If you are trying to live healthy now, you should already be consuming less salt. However, if you want a flat stomach, salt consumption can be problematic as too much salt causes bloating. The signs are more prominent on the stomach than anywhere else on the body. Salts can also cause high blood pressure which can lead to other health problems, so it is beneficial to reduce your salt intake for several reasons.

Drink lots of liquid
Liquids you should drink do not include sodas, alcohol or drinks that are filled with sugar; you need to either opt for natural fruit juices, green tea or water.  Green tea has been used in weight loss plans for many years because it is known for burning fat and boosting metabolism. Water is certainly the healthiest drink you could opt for in your efforts to lose weight and achieve a flat stomach.  It can help to flush out salt or sodium from the body and reduce the possibility of bloating.

Focus on abdominal exercises
If your main goal is to lose weight, then you will undoubtedly need to incorporate some type of exercise routine into your daily life. Along with cardiovascular exercise, there are a variety of exercises from which to choose that target the different muscles in the stomach. Some of the most effective abdominal exercises are:

·         *Obliques
·         *Reverse crunch
·         *Exercise ball crunch
·         *Torso twist/rotation
·         *Side bends
·         *Bicycle exercise
·         *Chair leg raise
·         *Vertical leg crunch
·         *Sit ups

Using Yoga For Weight Loss

Yoga can be put to good use for taking off excess pounds through the power of creating a state of mental and physical well being. The basic tenets of Yoga promotes a healthy lifestyle and when combined with a calorie reduction can help to speed up your weight loss. It will increase your metabolism by increasing the caloric burning process. All weight loss is based on using more calories than you take in. It will also allow you to increase your ability to concentrate and focus.

Your thyroid regulates your metabolism and is responsible for the chemical processes that transform food into energy. Yoga uses a series of twisting poses that will help to stimulate the work flow of the internal organs. This will cause your metabolism to increase and burn more calories which will eventually cause you to have a lower body weight. Another side effect is that it will help to improve your circulation and increase your energy level.

The various back bends combined with the forward bends will help to stimulate the metabolism. The poses that affect the neck region can be helpful in stimulating the thyroid if the weight problem is caused by a hormonal imbalance. Poses that will help the most for this include the camel, rabbit, plow, bridge and head stand. Going quickly between the various poses can help to accelerate the weght loss. Beware though that those seriously overweight may find some of these poses extremely difficult and should start slowly with the easier poses and add others as they become more confident in the easier ones.

You can use standing poses to increase muscle strengthening such as the warrior. These will help to create higher endurance and increase your caloric usage.

Remember that a gradual approach is best with all Yoga practices. The long term effects on your weight loss regime will become evident and even more so the inner peace and general well feeling that Yoga will promote within you.

How to Decide Which Diet Plans are Best

By Ron Stucky

If there is one thing constant about dieting programs is that no one can agree on which ones are the best. Don't be confused as you sift through literally hundreds of available manuals and program on how to lose weight because you will discover that most dieting programs do not agree. In what follows, you will read about a couple of dieting theories and programs which may help you decide on a weight-loss program.

One diet, known as the Caveman Diet, has been around for a while and it is rather popular. The idea is that people ate in a healthier way before modern processed foods were introduced. For many people this isn't an easy task as you have to stop eating nice tasting junk foods that are easy and convenient. And to add insult to injury you must also give up nearly all grains as the Caveman Diet is based on times before farms were around! It's not the end of the world though, as you can eat fruit and vegetables as well as animal products like meat, providing it's from natural sources. If you're interested in the Paleo Diet then I recommend looking into it some more to decide whether it's suitable for you.

Detoxification of your system through internal cleansing is also a great way to begin to shed the extra pounds. To do this, using diets like the Natural Cleanse and Master Cleanse, are often utilized. Remember that these diets are focused more on maintaining good health opposed to losing weight.

Upon returning to your regular diet, however, you may find yourself gaining your weight back after trying this out for a week to cleanse your system. As you can see, diets may be more useful in the long term if you modify what you eat instead of going one from time to time. Detoxification systems are useful, but temporary solutions, when trying to reach your weight loss goals.

There are many theories why the same diet won't work for everyone who tries it. Your blood type is what determines the foods you should eat, according to one theory. Whether you believe this or not, we can see that many people will have great success with a certain diet, while others will fail miserably. Some people do very well on a vegetarian diet, while others simply feel run down and even get sick. This suggests that you have to pay attention to how various foods make you feel so that you can choose the best type of diet for your own body.

That is why it is so important to get enough sleep and to remove stress if possible from your life. If you want to feel good, and lose weight too, you need to relax more a regular basis. Regardless of the dieting program that you choose, be aware that none of them are perfect. Of course, there are so many diets to choose from, we've barely scratched the surface. New diets are introduced practically every day. Even if you do not choose a dieting program today, stick with the basics of small portions, healthy foods, and routine exercise.
